Abstract The mapping of a survey variable throughout continuum or for finite populations units is usually performed from model-dependent perspective. Nevertheless, when sample locations/units selected by probabilistic sampling scheme, the complex task modelling can be avoided using inverse distance weighting interpolator and deriving properties maps in design-based Conditions ensuring consistency derived mainly based on some obvious assumptions about pattern study region as well feature scheme adopted to select locations/units. setting totals set domains partitioning are commonly estimated traditional estimators such Horvitz–Thompson estimator case Monte-Carlo continuous related exploiting information auxiliary variables.
